Project Estimator – Commercial Glazing 

Location: Tacoma, WA
Salary-$100,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
 

Position Overview

A growing commercial glazing contractor is seeking a Project Estimator – Commercial Glazing at either a Junior or Senior level to support an expanding portfolio of commercial projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting project teams from bid phase through project completion.

The ideal candidate has experience with commercial glazing systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with estimating, project management, sales, and field operations teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial glazing projects

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents

  • Perform material takeoffs and labor calculations

  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing

  • Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options

  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and field operations

  • Support bid submissions and client proposals

  • Track historical project costs and maintain estimating databases


Required Qualifications
  • Experience estimating commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront, or architectural glass systems

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills


Junior-Level Requirements
  • 1–3 years of experience in construction estimating or glazing

  • Willingness to learn commercial glazing systems and bidding processes

Senior-Level Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience estimating commercial glazing projects

  • Strong understanding of curtain wall, storefront, and window wall systems

  • Ability to lead bids independently and mentor junior estimators


Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or On-Screen Takeoff

  • Knowledge of commercial construction codes and industry standards

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
