About the Opportunity We are working with a well-established commercial glazing and architectural glass contractor that is looking to add an experienced Glazing Drafter to its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented drafter with experience in commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront, entrances, and architectural glass systems to join a growing organization working on high-profile projects. The Role The Glazing Drafter will be responsible for producing accurate shop drawings and fabrication drawings for commercial glazing projects. You will work closely with project managers, estimators, engineers, fabricators, and field teams to ensure drawings meet project specifications and can be efficiently fabricated and installed. Key Responsibilities Produce detailed shop drawings for commercial glazing projects. Prepare fabrication and installation drawings for storefront, curtain wall, entrances, and architectural glass systems. Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents. Interpret dimensions, elevations, sections, details, and architectural plans. Coordinate drawings with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and installation teams. Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements. Make revisions based on project changes, RFIs, and engineering feedback. Assist with material takeoffs and bill of materials where required. Identify potential design, fabrication, or installation issues before production. Maintain accurate drawing files and project documentation. Work to project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Requirements Previous experience drafting within the commercial glazing, curtain wall, storefront, or architectural glass industry . Strong understanding of glazing systems, materials, and installation methods. Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong communication and coordination skills. Experience with Glazier Studio, LogiKal, or similar glazing software is highly desirable. Previous experience producing shop drawings for commercial construction projects is strongly preferred.
