Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining merchandise planograms for all Fielmann USA banners. Ensure planograms accurately reflect assortment decisions made by buyers and are consistent with category strategy and visual merchandising standards. Analyze sales and marketing data and inventory levels to develop effective space planning strategies. Monitor and report on effectiveness of space planning strategies and make recommendations for improvements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC PLANOGRAM DEVELOPMENT

  • Evaluate and develop optimized space strategies partnering with buying team and inventory planning in support of company goals
  • Translate assortments and strategies into store specific planograms based on store specific volume, space, and signing needs
  • Partner with cross functional teams such as store planning to develop space plans for new stores
  • Provide analysis to identify merchandise trends and opportunities
  • Give visual direction to stores that execute the buyersโ€™ strategic plans
  • Analyze market research to identify customer preferences, and competitive landscape by region/store
  • Participate in product line reviews and partner with buying teams to influence product assortment based on market analysis
  • Use various software tools to visualize data and present findings to internal stakeholders

SPACE PLANNING MANAGEMENT

  • Support stores and field teams with questions on planograms and/or products
  • Own implementation of all display units and visual merchandising elements
  • Ensure all stores are accounted for and assigned to their respective planogram versions
  • Track ROI and KPIs for all space planning merchandising projects post implementation
  • Perform regular store audits to ensure compliance with merchandising standards and guidelines
  • Adjust plans as needed to optimize space productivity

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Combination of education and/or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 2-5 years of progressive space planning/buying/inventory management experience for a retail optical chain, specialty retailer, department store or big-box chain
  • Experience in retail merchandising or store management is a plus
  • Project management knowledge and experience
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to flourish in a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills, financial aptitude, and business acumen
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Experience in Microsoft PowerBI is a plus
