Job description

LOCATION: 2534 Royal Ln, Dallas, TX 75229
JOB TYPE: Part - time / Fall Internship
DURATION: 6 Weeks (3 days a week, 6 hours/day) 9/8 - 10/6
COMPENSATION: Paid Internship
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operational Shadowing
  • Acquire knowledge of all relevant store operations policies, procedures, and professional competencies.
  • Prepare a summary presentation or report on a specific operational area to be reviewed by management at the end of the program.
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions to develop subject matter expertise.
Customer Experience & Administration
  • Provide high-quality service by greeting customers and assisting with product inquiries.
  • Students will closely observe and analyze professional customer service techniques, shadowing team members to learn how to identify customer needs, resolve conflicts, and demonstrate empathy
  • Assist with customer issues and help manage loyalty program rewards.
Inventory & Store Merchandising
  • Assist with inventory management, including "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) rotation, stock efficiency, and using inventory tracking tools (aisle guns).
  • Perform the arrangement and visual display of grocery items, fresh produce, and specialty goods to understand consumer psychology, shelf-space optimization, and inventory rotation.
  • Monitor expiration dates and ensure accurate price labeling and organizational standards.
  • Conduct regular "store walks" to identify and improve store conditions and stock efficiency.
  • Observe produce, meat and seafood departments to learn the back-end operations of each departments
Qualification:
  • Currently enrolled at Dallas College in Business or relevant major
