Assistant Store Manager
Department: Retail Operations
Work Location: Gretna
Employment Status: Full-time
Salary Range: $50,000 + $1000 hiring bonus
JOB SUMMARY
Responsibilities include assisting the Store Manager in the management of all facets of store operations in support of the Goodwill Mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Foster and maintain a positive store culture for employees, participants and customers
  • Effectively recruit, hire, develop, supervise, schedule and evaluate store personnel; supervise volunteers
  • Provide on-the-job training and onboarding for new and existing employees
  • Complete daily breakdown audit, store bank deposit, and reconciling cash drawers
  • Assure donations are processed within 24 hours of receipt
  • Support all Mission-related programs in the retail store
  • Ensure customers are treated in a fair, courteous, and efficient manner
  • Maintain a safe working/shopping environment. Investigate and document all accidents/injuries/incidents
  • Assist the Store Manager in maintaining an effective loss prevention program for the store
  • Ensure adequate merchandise colorization and categorization of store inventory
  • Create timely store sales events to achieve additional revenue
  • Responsible for authorizing store discounts according to agency standards
  • Ensure all store salvaging is completed in a timely and safe fashion
  • Promote diversity in the work place through hiring practices with assistance from the Human Resources Department
  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position
  • Must be able to assist at other store locations
  • Must be able to work all closing shifts
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well being of employees, customers, and participants
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred
  • One (1) years’ experience in a retail setting required
  • One (1) years’ experience in a lead or supervisory capacity required
