Job description

Job Title: Grocery Merchandiser
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Prichard
Job Summary:
The grocery merchandiser is a skilled and motivated self-starter with leadership qualities who performs various store activities to attain P&L goals/budgets. They are responsible for implementing and training store personnel regarding all aspects associated with product presentation. They are also responsible for driving operational standards in accordance with Greer's approved plans. They will also need to be aware of the changing consumer preferences and offer a wide variety of food options to include trends in mainstream as well as healthy products.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1.Reports to grocery team and/or executive team any opportunities for improvement.
2.Responsible for assisting stores to attain budgeted sales and margin.
3.Trains employees in basic operational and merchandising techniques as needed.
4.Offers ideas and direction to improve/eliminate shrink (dating/theft/paper losses/etc.).
5.Assists in developing and executing the merchandising plan as developed by the grocery team.
6.Performs store walks with District Managers and Store Director to ensure merchandising is set to plan and standards. (tag placement, displays, endcaps cleanliness, etc.) (Follows up to ensure compliance)
7.Mentors and teaches store personnel the basics of store operations to include labor planning, back-room management, DSD check-in management, AWG/VMC invoicing, etc.
8.Adheres to and enforces Greer's operational standards consistent throughout chain.
9.Works with grocery team procurement and store directors to forecast promotional/seasonal planning.
10.Works with procurement and store directors to maintain budget store inventory levels.
11.Provides recommendations for ordering items/inventory displays.
12.Looks for cross merchandising opportunities to drive incremental sales and margins.
13.Periodically attends food shows as needed.
14.Runs store sets and follows guidelines as set by the grocery team to ensure category sections are set to incorporate desired layout/flow/item selection per plan.
Qualifications:

โ€ข Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field preferred.
โ€ข Proven working experience in merchandising/store operations.
