EHC is looking for a Design Project Manager for a Client in the Magnolia Area

Job Description: Design Project Manager

Department: Design / Architecture

Reports To: Director of Design / Vice President of Design-Build

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Greater Houston Area (On-site, with travel as required)

Position Summary

The Design Project Manager serves as the key liaison between design and construction,

managing the full lifecycle of architectural projects from concept through construction

completion. This position is responsible for ensuring design intent aligns with

constructability, client requirements, quality and efficiency

standards. The role offers direct involvement in both design and field coordination within

an integrated design-build environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

โ€ข Lead and manage design projects from schematic design through construction

documentation and completion.

โ€ข Coordinate with project stakeholders, including internal architects, engineers, and

construction teams.

โ€ข Translate design concepts into buildable, accurate construction documents that meet all

codes and project requirements.

โ€ข Oversee production of drawings, specifications, and submittals while ensuring quality

and schedule adherence.

โ€ข Review applicable codes and ensure design compliance with all federal, state, and local

regulations.

โ€ข Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and value-engineering

discussions.

โ€ข Provide ongoing support to construction teams during the build phase, ensuring design

intent is maintained.

โ€ข Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organization,

communication, and attention to detail.

โ€ข Travel to project sites across the U.S. as needed to support field coordination and client

engagement.

Required Qualifications

โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Architecture (required).

โ€ข Minimum of 8 years of experience in a professional design setting under a licensed

architect.

โ€ข Comprehensive project experience from schematic design through construction

administration.

โ€ข Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

โ€ข Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.

โ€ข Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, integrated design-build environment.

Preferred Qualifications

โ€ข Experience in mission-critical facility design or industrial/PEMB structures.

โ€ข Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.

โ€ข Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and field integration within a design-build

firm.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular coordination with field

teams. Periodic travel to project sites across the U.S. may be required. Site visits may

involve exposure to active construction environments including outdoor weather and

uneven terrain. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
