Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical - Neuro.
The unit consists of 48 beds, caring for medical surgical patients specializing in Client and Neurosurgery.
Patients include those with strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions.
RNs must be prepared to care for up to six medical surgical patients.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with a rare 1:7 at night based on staffing needs.
Stepdown patient ratios are 1:3-4, days and nights.
Travelers must be flexible to float to various units as needed, including but not limited to mixed acuity areas.
Weekends will require four shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period, including Saturday and Sunday days or Friday and Saturday nights.
Travelers are required to work two of three major holidays.
Candidates must have a nicotine-free status.
The facility supports interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, respiratory services, and physical therapy, among others.
This role requires specific skills such as managing cardiac telemetry and administering IV insulin protocols.
All staff must adhere to facility policies regarding patient care and safety measures.
