Must-Have: 3 years of labor and delivery experience
Description:
Candidates must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility.
A driver's license is required.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of the contract.
RNs must pass an exam during orientation.
This is an open-book exam on skills learned.
Candidates will be given all necessary resources to pass.
A score of 90% is required to pass, or candidates will be terminated.
The department includes LDRP RN.
Common diagnoses/types of patients include obstetrics, postpartum, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, and pregnancy with hypertension or diabetes.
RNs are required to titrate drips, including Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia.
Floating is rare and only occurs during critical staffing situations.
RNs do not handle troubleshooting for respiratory equipment.
There are no tele/monitor techs on this unit.
RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips.
Shifts are 12 hours each.
The manager will complete the schedule.
Weekend requirements are every other week.
Holiday requirements will be based on need.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Unit-specific orientation consists of classroom time and shifts on the floor.
The unit has high patient experience scores and is recognized for patient care.
Staff should submit RTO upfront with 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract.
Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions.
The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting system used is EPIC.
A BSN is not required for this position.
