The Rental and Tuneshop Team Lead(s) are the core leader(s) in their locations rental and tune shop departments. This position has two primary areas of focus: 1.) To ensure that their locations' rental fleet is in working order, inventory is accurate, fleet is well organized, Technicians are following the rental processes correctly and are well trained, reservations are being fulfilled, and customers are satisfied with their experience. 2.) The tuneshop is running efficiently, has the proper supplies at any given time, Technicians are trained properly, customer work is being delivered on time, and any mistakes made are being addressed properly.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Direct all Technicians in the rental and tuneshop.
  • Confidently manage the operations of the rental and tuneshop.
  • Inspire Technicians to work hard every day.
  • Be able to handle any tune shop, rental, or repair inquiry.
  • Regularly operate all tune shop equipment: perform quick tunes, full tunes, ceramic edges, phantom waxes, advanced equipment repair, and binding mounts to Next Adventure’s high standards.
  • Be able to effectively train technicians on tune and rental shop skills, and help facilitate technicians to reach a expert skill level.
  • Work with your team to manage the rental fleet inventory schedule.
  • Create clear workflow plans, lead the implementation, and be able to know when to make adjustments.
  • Be an expert at handling customer complaints and finding win-win solutions.
  • Regularly monitor that all Technicians are following safety protocol.
  • Buy used gear the Next Adventure way and know how to use the RAPID software.
  • To help facilitate warranty claims properly, while being able to identify unique solutions outside of the manufacturer's warranty.
  • Perform advanced IT Rental functions: create staff profiles, create/edit rental articles, inventory management, reporting, IT troubleshooting, reservation management, and reservation portal troubleshooting.
  • Perform moderate Shopify Functions: open/close register, adjust inventory, cash register duties, and create manual transfers.
  • Perform moderate level boot fitting skills: must be able to measure in mondo point, read last, shell fit, size boots properly, perform liner heat molds, adjust canting, cut/fit insoles, and know when to ask for help.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a Next Adventure Senior Technician or have experience working in a leadership role in a rental and/or tuneshop.
  • Have up to date binding certification from all manufacturers: Marker, Tyrolia/Head, Atomic/Salmon/Armada, and Rossi/Dynastar/Look.
  • Able to perform any type of ski binding mount.
  • Able to operate tuneshop machinery: base grinder, stone grinder, edging machines/tools, base/edge repair tools, waxing tools and robot tuning machines
  • Moderate boot fitting knowledge.
  • Able to do base welds, ptex work, and epoxy repair
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Enjoys and thrives working with a team.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to talk in depth about skis, snowboards, snowshoes, and mountaineering gear.
  • Ability to assess equipment damage and provide recommendations to repair.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
