Position Overview
The Customer Service / Yard Laborer is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting with the daily operations of the stone yard. This position involves operating material handling equipment, building and loading customer orders, receiving and organizing inventory, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and supporting customers and delivery operations. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced outdoor work environment.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous service to all customers.
  • Assist customers with product selection and direct them to the appropriate materials.
  • Build and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Load customer vehicles and contractor trucks safely and securely.
  • Answer basic product and inventory questions and refer customers to management when necessary.
  • Follow all company customer service policies and procedures.
  • Loading, Unloading & Material Handling
  • Safely unload incoming shipments of stone, hardscape materials, bulk products, and related supplies.
  • Build orders for customer pickup and delivery.
  • Load customer vehicles, contractor trucks, and company delivery trucks.
  • Verify materials and quantities before loading.
  • Maintain organized inventory and storage areas throughout the yard.
  • Follow all company safety procedures regarding lifting, loading, and material handling.
Forklift & Equipment Operation
  • Employees operating forklifts or loaders must successfully complete company-approved safety training and certification requirements.
Yard Maintenance & Operations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment.
  • Stock and organize inventory displays and storage areas.
  • Assist with product labeling, signage, and inventory identification.
  • Keep loading zones, customer areas, and workspaces free of debris and hazards.
  • Assist with seasonal yard preparation and general facility upkeep.
  • Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned.
Requirements
General Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance or equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
