What are marble workers?

Marble workers, also known as marble masons or marble setters, are skilled tradespeople who cut, shape, and install marble for floors, walls, countertops, and other surfaces. They work with both natural and engineered marble, using specialized tools to measure, cut, polish, and fit marble pieces according to design specifications. Marble workers often collaborate with architects, builders, and interior designers to achieve the desired aesthetic and structural results. Their work requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of various installation techniques. Safety is also a key aspect of their job, as they handle heavy materials and operate cutting equipment.

What are some common challenges faced by marble installers during a typical project?

Marble installers often encounter challenges such as ensuring precise measurements for custom cuts, handling and transporting heavy slabs safely, and maintaining a dust-free environment to prevent imperfections during installation. Working in teams is essential, as collaboration helps manage large or complex pieces and ensures quality alignment. Attention to detail, proper tool use, and effective communication with contractors and clients are critical for overcoming these challenges and delivering a polished final product.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Marble Mason, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Marble Mason, you need expertise in stone cutting, finishing, and installation techniques, often supported by vocational training or apprenticeship. Familiarity with tools such as wet saws, grinders, and polishers, as well as knowledge of safety regulations, is typically required. Attention to detail, physical stamina, and effective teamwork are essential soft skills in this trade. These abilities ensure precision, quality workmanship, and safe, efficient project completion in marble installation.

What is the difference between Marble Marble vs Mason?

AspectMarble MarbleMason
CredentialsTypically requires certification in stone installation or finishingOften requires apprenticeship, on-the-job training, or certification in masonry
Work EnvironmentIndoor and outdoor, working with marble and other stonesPrimarily outdoor, working with bricks, stones, and concrete
Industry UsageUsed in decorative stonework, flooring, and countertopsUsed in building walls, structures, and outdoor installations

Marble Marble and Mason roles both involve working with stone materials, but Marble Marble specializes in working specifically with marble for decorative and finishing purposes, often requiring specialized certification. Masons have a broader scope, working with various building materials like bricks and concrete, mainly in construction. While both work in the construction and renovation industry, their skills and work environments differ significantly.

Job description

About Marble
Marble is building the new operating system for youth mental health by connecting schools, therapists, and health plans on a single platform to unlock access to care today and raise the standard of care for tomorrow.
Last year, 1 in 10 teens attempted suicide. At the heart of this crisis is a severe lack of access to quality, affordable care. When kids can't get help, problems compound and preventable tragedies follow. Marble partners directly with school counselors to get students into care quickly by connecting them to licensed therapists through the insurance coverage they already have, with no waitlists.
We're an early-stage, fast-moving team. The people who join now will shape how we build and what we build.
About the Role
New York is Marble's home market, and there are still thousands of students here who don't yet have access to the care they need. We're looking for an Account Executive to deepen our presence across the city and state by building relationships with school counselors and administrators who haven't yet partnered with Marble and expanding our footprint in schools where we're already known.
You'll help counselors understand how Marble works: students get connected to licensed therapists quickly, at no cost to the school or the student, through the insurance coverage they already have. You'll own the full outreach-to-partnership cycle - prospecting the right schools, building trust with counselors, and handing off to our success team once a school is onboard. Every partnership you establish means more students in New York getting care sooner.
This role is hybrid, with three days per week in our SoHo, New York City office.
What You'll Do
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through demo and close
  • Build and manage a pipeline of school and district opportunities across your territory
  • Develop trusted relationships with school counselors, principals, and district administrators - understanding their needs and positioning Marble as the right solution
  • Create and run compelling, tailored pitches that connect Marble's platform to each school's specific challenges
  • Collaborate with the Growth and Success teams to ensure smooth handoffs and strong retention from the accounts you close
  • Bring insights from the field back to product, marketing, and leadership to sharpen Marble's positioning and go-to-market strategy
  • Represent Marble at school district meetings, conferences, and events across your territory

Who You Are
  • 2-4 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in ed-tech, health tech, or another mission-driven SaaS environment
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a role that required you to build pipeline and/or manage an end-to-end sales cycle
  • Comfortable selling to multiple stakeholders - you know how to navigate an organization, identify the right decision-makers, and build consensus
  • Experience with K-12 school districts or education-adjacent markets is a strong plus
  • Exceptional communicator - you build trust quickly, listen well, and present with confidence
  • Organized and disciplined in how you manage your pipeline; experienced with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)
  • Thrives in an early-stage environment where the playbook is still being written and you have real ownership over outcomes
  • Mission-driven and energized by improving access to mental health care for kids

Why Marble
  • Direct impact on kids' mental health access - this work is meaningful
  • Greenfield opportunity to build something from the ground up, with leadership support and a clear growth path
  • Small, experienced team that moves fast and takes the work seriously
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and equity

Compensation
Marble offers competitive compensation for a high-performing sales professional. Compensation includes a base salary, commission, equity, and full benefits.
On-target earnings:
$130,000 - $150,000 (base + commission)
Equity:
Meaningful equity commensurate with role level
