Job description

Warehouse Associate

Perform general duties associated with warehouse distribution.  As a backup driver, provides safe, timely and efficient delivery of products to customers and/or branches.  Delivery responsibilities are secondary to the warehouse duties and will be performed when business needs require additional delivery support.

Key Responsibilities include:

Warehouse Associate

  • Performs all requirements of assigned department(s) (shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory, delivery, etc.); may provide assistance throughout the warehouse.
  • As the work flow requires:
    • Ensures verification takes place on all incoming and outgoing transactions.
    • Receives material from vendors into the business system and maintains related records.
    • Assists with unloading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
    • Assists with inventory management including cycle counts.
  • Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products.  Occasionally performs the same activities with product weighing up to 70 pounds.  Typically bends, stoops and/or crouches on a regular basis from various heights to stock or deliver product to a customer.  NOTE:  if assigned to the construction product area, frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing 75+ pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products. 
  • Operates forklift: proper training and certification required. May also use material handling equipment (including pallet jack, dollies, handcart & conveyor).
  • Supports the implementation and processes of TWL (if applicable) and the quality program.
  • Cleans and maintains work area to ensure compliance to safety regulations.

Driver

  • Operates various delivery vehicles provided by the company.
  • Transports products and material to and from specified destinations.
  • Load and unloads the delivery vehicle.
  • Maintains radio contact to receive delivery and pick up instructions.
  • Checks truck’s equipment and supplies to ensure roadworthiness.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1-year work experience, warehousing experience preferred.
  • Basic PC skills with MS Office Products required. Operate computer terminal and other computer related equipment relevant to job duties.
  • High level of initiative, commitment, and devotion to fulfill company mission statement.
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical.
  • Chauffeur License required.  Successful completion of internal driving skills assessment required.
  • Good, verifiable driving required.  Motor Vehicle report is reviewed by our insurance company biannually.
