Job description

We are looking for a Freelance Art Director - Beauty & Fragrance for a Global Lifestyle and Fashion company in NYC. This individual will work closely with the Beauty Creative team and is responsible for concept development and visual direction for photography, video, print, digital and social campaigns and launches. They will need the ability to manage tight deadlines and large volumes of work while still maintaining a high level of creativity. Must have experience in Beauty industry, directing still life photoshoots, creating concept decks and writing retouching notes.
  • Hourly pay rate is up to $75.00 based on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and produce beautiful, engaging and customer friendly site launches, emails and offer updates for Fragrances and Accessories.
  • Collaborate with the Beauty Design team to ensure designs are consistent with the brand projection, are highly elevated, and meet brand standards.
  • Oversee art direction for photography, video, print and digital experiences
  • Strong, cross-functional partner who can work collaboratively with peers, merchants, producers, photo, copy and other relevant cross-functional departments.
  • Collaborate closely with merchants, marketing and creative director to translate merchandising strategy into compelling, brand-right creative an eye to performance and ease of use.
  • Ensure deadlines for assigned projects are met.
  • Maintain absolute accuracy and attention to detail throughout the creative and production process.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree (Design / Interactive) or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years experience working on creative concepts for beauty campaigns
  • Mastery of appropriate tools & technology: Adobe Creative Suite focusing on - InDesign and Photoshop; Working knowledge Illustrator; Knowledge of web motions graphics and video using
  • Relevant creative background.
  • Proven talent in graphic and interactive design.
  • Strong retail/fashion brand or agency experience desired; ecommerce experience ideal.
  • Experience delivering on business and creative goals through design.
