Job Description
The Director of Campaign and Strategic Initiatives is a key member of The Christ Hospital Foundation development team and serves as an operational and strategic partner supporting the planning and execution of comprehensive fundraising campaigns and strategic initiatives that advance the philanthropic impact of The Christ Hospital Health Network.
Reporting to the President of The Christ Hospital Foundation, this role plays an essential leadership function in ensuring the vision and strategy of the campaign are successfully implemented across multiple priorities throughout the organization and health network. Serving as the operational hub of the campaign, the Director ensures alignment between strategy, fundraising execution, volunteer leadership, and campaign reporting.
The Director is responsible for coordinating all future campaign initiatives, managing campaign infrastructure, supporting major gift strategy, fostering an exceptional donor experience, and ensuring alignment between campaign priorities and the philanthropic goals of The Christ Hospital Health Network.
The position works closely with Foundation leadership, frontline fundraisers, operations and donor experience team members, physicians, administrators, volunteer leaders, and key donors to ensure successful campaign execution, strong donor engagement, and effective tracking of campaign progress.
Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy and Implementation: Support the planning and implementation of comprehensive campaign strategies in alignment with the priorities of The Christ Hospital Foundation and The Christ Hospital Health Network.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of campaign strategy, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate campaign planning activities and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Support strategic initiatives that support philanthropic campaigns and innovations implemented by the Foundation team.
  • Support the development and ongoing implementation of campaign messaging, website development and maintenance, print materials and collateral, and donor proposals in collaboration with development and marketing teams.
  • Monitor campaign progress and assist with tracking philanthropic commitments toward campaign goals.
  • Prepare reports and updates for Foundation, Network leadership and campaign volunteer committees.
  • Build out a robust articulation of campaign priorities inspired by a comprehensive Case for Support
  • Assist with special projects assigned by Foundation leadership.

Internal and External Collaboration with Leaders: Provide coordination and strategic support for campaign initiatives across the Foundation and Health Network with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
  • Working closely with Foundation board members and campaign leadership committee, liaison with volunteers and creating volunteer task assignments
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership, and physicians to advance campaign initiatives.
  • Support internal communications related to campaign progress and priorities.
  • Monitor and maintain a master campaign calendar for cultivation, solicitation and volunteer committee activities.

Donor Experience Support: In full collaboration with the donor experience team, support the development and implementation of a best-in-class donor experience for the stakeholder community.
Responsibilities include:
  • Support the implementation of giving society events, campaign events, bi-annual Gala, out of market events, and collaborative events with clinical leaders.
  • Support Giving Society initiatives through the lens of campaign implementation.
  • Ensure that donor impact reports are timely, accurate, and inspire donor fulfillment.
  • Support individual stewardship strategy of the Network's top donors.

Donor and Prospect Engagement Support: In full collaboration with the major gift team, support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of campaign donors and prospects in partnership with frontline fundraising staff.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in identifying and managing campaign prospects and donor pipelines.
  • While collaborating with the operations team, support development officers with research, briefing materials, and donor engagement strategies through the lens of campaign implementation.
  • In full conjunction with the major gift team, support the coordination and preparation of donor proposals, gift agreements, and stewardship materials.
  • Track donor interactions and campaign commitments within the Foundation's CRM system.

Campaign Operations and Data Management: In full collaboration with the operations team, maintain the operational infrastructure necessary to support campaign success.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain campaign reports, dashboards, and internal tracking tools.
  • Ensure accurate campaign data entry and reporting through the Foundation's CRM platform.
  • Assist with prospect management and strategy management tracking across the campaign.
  • Analyze campaign data and metrics to support strategic decision making.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree Required
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 7-10 years of experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Accuracy, accountability, professionalism and courtesy are required skills due to interactions with administrators, physicians, board members, donors and community leaders. Writing skills are important. Expert competency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and ability to remain calm under pressure is vital. Non-profit, academic and/or healthcare campaign experience strongly preferred. Specific project management experience that demonstrates:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting fundraising campaigns or large-scale philanthropic initiatives preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
