Crane Operator C - Westwego, LA
This is a full-time, hourly level position.
Position Summary:
  • ADM is seeking a qualified candidate to work as a crane operator on a mid-stream stevedoring rig based out of our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) in Waggaman, LA.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate crane in midstream stevedoring operations discharging various cargos by bucket/hook
  • Inspection of crane, associated equipment and applicable rigging necessary for safe and productive operation
  • Lead and train stevedore personnel in operations and care of stevedoring production assets
  • Oversee crane/rig insuring that care, housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance is maintained to Company standards
  • Coordinate with shift lead and rig crews to accomplish safe and productive crane operationsย 
  • Complete a variety of required forms electronically and on paper
  • Lead rig personnel in completing required training and documentation
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management
Job Requirements:
  • Previous experience operating cranes in a stevedoring environment
  • ADM approved crane operator certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days
  • Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under the supervision of the Shift Lead or operations management
  • Ability to execute and assist with inspection and maintenance of crane and associated components, including but not limited to general maintenance, cable changes, lubricants, and bucket maintenance
  • Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents
  • Computer skills sufficient to safely and productively operate crane and complete a variety of reports and documents
  • Ability to work in a flexible schedule; must allow for changes in assignments, and priorities depending upon identified needs of the rig or vessels.ย  Working extended hours, evenings, weekends and Holidays also required
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to work in all types of climates
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Physical Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and Company human performance exam (physical ability test)
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequent heavy lifting
  • Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending and climbing stairs/ladders
  • Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces
