STEM Facilitator

The position for a STEM Facilitator will be available at Victory STEM Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. Primary Purpose: The STEM Facilitator is responsible for leading, coordinating, and implementing the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs and initiatives at Victory. The facilitator will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to implement and enhance the school's STEM curriculum, activities, and resources. The goal of this position is to foster a culture of inquiry, innovation, and critical thinking among students and promote their interest and engagement in STEM fields.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Implement the comprehensive STEM program from Victory STEM Academy's School Design Plan aligned with the school's mission, vision, and stated outcomes, to include heavy support for the launch and planning of WonderWednesdays and Project Lead the Way.
2. Lead on launching a system of instruction across the campus around STEM Fluency skills, to include teaching STEM fluency lessons.
3. Develop and implement systems and structures that ensure collaboration among content-area teachers to ensure successful launch of Project Lead the Way curriculum.
4. Responsible for the "Applied Mathematics" focus of the School Design Plan: math lesson plans and support teachers in developing real-world application of math concepts.
5. Coordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their knowledge and instructional strategies related to STEM education, to include Project Lead the Way training, STEM PLCs, and STEM Fluency Skill Training.
6. Observe, model and coach teachers and provide actionable feedback on STEM instruction.
7. Support  ongoing training, coaching and implementation of STEM Instructional Strategies across disciplines.
8. Identify and secure resources, materials, and equipment necessary for effective STEM instruction and hands-on learning experiences to include purchasing, maintaining and updating all required PLTW Kits and replacement materials to ensure materials are maintained and ready for teacher and student use.
9. Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations, universities, and STEM professionals to provide enrichment opportunities, mentorships with ECHS CTE students, and guest speakers for students.
10. Support grade level leaders in planning STEM-based field experiences with community partners and/or guest speakers or special events.
11. Organize and oversee extracurricular STEM clubs, competitions, and events to promote student engagement and interest in STEM disciplines, to include tracking time for teachers of the Clubs and a process to evaluate effectiveness.
12. Assess the effectiveness of the STEM program through data analysis, student performance evaluations, and feedback from teachers, students, and parents.
13. Serve as liaison between campus and families to ensure family engagement and STEM-awareness.
14. Stay current with the latest trends, research, and best practices in STEM education, and disseminate relevant information to teachers and staff (Including researching programs like: CyberPatriots, Continental Math League).
15. Collaborate with the administration to develop and manage the budget for STEM-related initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
16. Coordinate outside partners and school stakeholders for STEM engagement nights.
17. Lead and coordinate engaging STEM and makerspace programs, initiatives, and events that inspire student learning and innovation.
18. Communicate and facilitate effectively with students, teachers, families, administrators, and community partners.
19. Differentiate instruction, mentor students, and provide individualized guidance that supports diverse interests, skill levels, and learning needs.
20. Model design thinking, creative problem-solving, experimentation, and perseverance as students develop and troubleshoot projects.
21. Teach and model safe, effective use of makerspace tools, technologies, and materials, including 3D printers, laser cutters, microcontrollers, and hand tools.
22. Foster an inclusive culture of collaboration, teamwork, curiosity, and innovation while building partnerships that expand STEM opportunities.
23. Manage multiple projects, resources, and priorities while maintaining a safe, organized, accessible, and well-equipped makerspace.
24. Stay current with emerging technologies, STEM education practices, and makerspace trends and continuously apply new approaches.
25. Champion STEM learning by showcasing student work, celebrating achievement, and helping students see pathways to future STEM opportunities and careers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Appropriate Texas Teachers Certificate Generalist or Core EC-6.
• Strong knowledge of current STEM education pedagogy, curriculum frameworks, and instructional practices.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools, software, and resources relevant to STEM instruction.
• Strong background in teacher coaching, PLC facilitation, and professional development skills
• Knowledge of and/or experience with High-Quality Instructional Materials
• Ability to analyze data, assess program effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with a range of tools, technologies, and materials commonly used in makerspaces, such as 3D printers, microcontrollers, programming languages, and craft supplies.
• Teaching experience in a STEM-related field, preferably with experience in makerspace or project-based learning environments.
• Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and the ability to integrate them into hands-on activities.

EQUIPMENT USED:  Computer (Internet and multimedia software), projector, document camera, printer, copier, telephone, fax  

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Protracted and irregular hours of work.  Maintain emotional control under stress.  Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.  Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment.  May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities: control behavior through physical restraint; and assist non-ambulatory students.  Exposure to biological hazards.  Daily district-wide travel between schools.    

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT:   2026-2027 School Year 

SALARY:  Based on the 2026-2027 Classroom Teacher Salary Scale, Grant funded position
