Job description

Salary:

Shepard Steel is looking for a Maintenance Technician, with experience in the metal fabrication industry.


Under the direct supervision of the General Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, the maintenance technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property infrastructure. These items include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and repair of welding machines
  • Troubleshoot and repair of overhead cranes - 5 Ton capacity
  • Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
  • Perform preventative maintenance measures regularly
  • Maintain inventory of production supplies and repair parts for factory equipment
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate machine repairs with remote tech support
  • Complete inspections of safety systems
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
  • General automotive repair and maintenance
  • Snow removal - operating plow trucks, skid steers, snow blowers
  • Perform other maintenance duties as requested


Maintenance Technician Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Valid drivers license
  • Physically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling 70 pounds unassisted
  • Physically capable of bending/twisting as well as standing for long periods of time
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision as well as with other technicians
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and has a positive attitude
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be willing to submit a drug test and background check
