Job description

Structural Steel Detailer

Galvanizers Inc. is looking for a mid-level, motivated Structural Detailer to join our team. The detailer will convert the structural engineer's design into a comprehensive Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) for the fabrication shop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Extracts the final, detailed BOM from drawings, ensuring that all pieces are accounted for, including, but not limited to: beams, columns, bracing, and connection plates – accuracy is vital.

Quantity Verification

  • Verifies that the quantities listed in the BOM match the detailed drawings to prevent shortages or overages.?

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Strong skills in material identification.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.

  • Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).

  • Ability to work with others.

  • Ability to interpret Blueprints/Structural Drawings.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.

  • Ability to identify and resolve issues and conflicts efficiently.

  • Ability to prioritize ensuring all timelines and deadlines are met.

  • Other Duties as Assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Secondary Education Helpful but not required.

EXPERIENCE - Preferred One (1) year of Steel Fabrication
