Quality Control Inspector

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, first shift

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet quality standards and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical inspection experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspections of raw materials, customer-supplied materials, purchased components, and returned goods.
  • Conduct first article, start-up, in-process, and final inspections to verify product conformance.
  • Inspect products against engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, plug/ring gauges, dial indicators, optical comparators, electronic balances, and other inspection tools.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles during inspections.
  • Perform and document testing activities, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection when required.
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain quality documentation in company systems.
  • Monitor production processes and communicate nonconforming conditions, quality concerns, and out-of-specification results to Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.
  • Support calibration activities for inspection and test equipment, coordinating with external calibration providers as needed.
  • Assist Engineering with product validation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support production operations, including label-printing system setup and other quality-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T required.
  • Experience with optical measurement systems and advanced inspection equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SPC, quality documentation, and good documentation practices.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and numerical aptitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
