Job description

Harry & David is looking for a student interested in operations and data analytics for a paid Summer 2026 internship at our Medford, OR location. Our internship offers the chance to join one of Jackson County's premier employers and apply their education and experience in a practical setting.
The Operations Analytics Intern supports the identification of operational inefficiencies and helps teams make data-informed decisions that improve accuracy, reduce friction, and support business growth. In this role, you will work closely with partners across Finance, Merchandising/Product, Data, Customer Service, and Operations to explore business questions, assist in root cause analysis, and contribute to centralizing operations data for analytical use.
This internship provides hands-on experience in operations analytics, data governance, and business performance measurement. You will gain exposure to real-world datasets, learn how to translate data into actionable insights, and support initiatives that improve operational processes and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support efforts to centralize operations data across multiple systems to improve consistency and accessibility.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standardized taxonomies, KPIs, and metric definitions.
  • Help monitor data quality and participate in validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Conduct basic data analysis to support business questions and identify trends or issues.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and support reporting needs.
  • Assist in building reports and dashboards using data visualization tools.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear summaries and presentations.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation efforts.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Operations, Economics, or a related field (Junior standing or above preferred)
  • Strong interest in data analytics, operations, or supply chain management
  • Basic proficiency in SQL, Excel, or similar analytical tools
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma) is a plus
  • Foundational understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts, including probability, percentages, ratios, and basic statistical inference
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and apply new concepts
  • Ability to communicate ideas and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in team settings
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities and deadlines
