Job description

Blue Sky Utility isย seekingย a highly strategic and execution-oriented Treasurer to lead the Company's treasury function during a period of rapid growth and capital deployment. This role is critical to ensuring liquidity,ย optimizingย capital structure, and supporting the financing and operation of a multi-state portfolio of utility-scale solar assets.ย 

The Treasurer will serve as a key partner to the CFO and finance team, with direct responsibility for cash management, debt oversight, banking relationships, and financial risk management. This individual will playย a central roleย in supporting projectย financings, managing lender relationships, and ensuring financial discipline across the organization.ย 

This is not a passive, back-office treasury role. The Treasurer is expected to actively drive financial strategy, support transactions, and ensure the Company is positioned to scale efficiently and responsibly.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

Liquidity & Cash Managementย 

  • Manage the Company's short- and long-term liquidity strategy across operating entities and project-level structuresย ย 
  • Develop andย maintainย rolling cash flow forecasts, including scenario planning for growth, acquisitions, and market shiftsย ย 
  • Optimizeย cash positioning across accounts, entities, andย jurisdictionsย ย 

Debt & Capital Structureย 

  • Oversee all debt obligations, including construction financing, term loans, tax equity structures, and other project financing arrangementsย ย 
  • Monitor covenant compliance and reporting requirements across all financing agreementsย ย 
  • Support structuring and execution of new financings in partnership with Business Development and executive leadershipย ย 

Banking & Capital Markets Relationshipsย 

  • Manage relationships with banks, lenders, tax equity investors, and other capital providersย ย 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for financial institutions and external stakeholdersย ย 
  • Support lender reporting, audits, and ongoing diligence requirementsย ย 

Project Finance & Transactionsย 

  • Partner closely with Business Development and Project Delivery teams on M&A transactions, acquisitions, and asset-level financingsย ย 
  • Support financial modeling, diligence, and execution of transactionsย ย 
  • Ensure alignment between treasury strategy and project-level financial performanceย ย 

Risk Managementย 

  • Identifyย and manage financial risks, including interest rate exposure, counterparty risk, and liquidity constraintsย ย 
  • Develop and implement treasury policies, controls, and governance frameworksย ย 
  • Support and manage surety and insurance plansย 

Systems, Controls & Reportingย 

  • Establish scalable treasury processes and controls to support a growing organizationย ย 
  • Oversee cash reporting, bank account management, and treasury systemsย ย 
  • Ensureย accurateย andย timelyย reporting to executive leadership and lendersย ย 

Requirements

  • 3+ย years of experience in treasury, corporate finance, or project financeย ย 
  • Strong experience inย renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based financing environmentsย ย 
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex debt structures and multi-entity cash flowsย ย 
  • Proven ability to work directly with lenders, investors, and financial institutionsย ย 
  • Experience supporting or leadingย project financings, acquisitions, or capital raisesย ย 
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilitiesย ย 

Preferred:ย 

  • Experience in utility-scale solar, BESS, or energy infrastructureย ย 
  • Background in tax equity financing structuresย ย 
  • Experience in high-growth or PE-backed environmentsย ย 

Leadership Profileย
