Job description

Title: Superintendent
Reports to: Division Manager
Herman Weissker Power, Inc. About the Role:
We are searching for a Superintendent to provide direction and guidance to field foreman, and project engineers on all construction projects assigned to them. Oversee the entire project in conjunction with project engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
² Responsible for all assigned projects to ensure budget, schedules, materials, sub-contractors and crews are on target and profitable.
² Monitors overall quantity and quality of work performed on all assigned jobs.
² Responsible for reviewing and approving all expenses for each assigned job; ensure they are applied to the proper job and phase code.
² Responsible for obtaining purchase order numbers in accordance with company policy.
² Monitors contract compliance for each job to ensure the company is protected regarding liabilities matters and liens (collection matters).
² Responsible for obtaining signed change orders when appropriate and submitting to their Manager and Accounting for processing.
² Provides direction to the A/R department to ensure invoices are properly and timely created.
² Serves as senior technical advisor.
² Participates in resolving difficult issues or start-up problems
² Authorizes/approves all personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.) in conjunction with appropriate project managers
² Participates in resolving labor disputes and related negotiations as required
² Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.
² Implements safety programs as directed by the Safety Department.
² Participates in the development of craft and supervision training programs.
² Follows and ensures compliance with all company safety program requirements.
² Promotes safety among peers, subordinates and supervisors
² Performs additional assignments at the direction of the Project Manager
² A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
² A 4-year engineering, construction management, or business administration degree preferred.
² Possess or ability to obtain a valid class C California driver's license
Qualifications:
² A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in similar type construction environment required.
² Proven experience in effectively managing similar construction personnel and projects.
² Proven experience in effectively managing the financial aspects of jobs to ensure the best possible profit.
² Proven experience in understanding and effectively managing contracts to ensure compliance with terms and protect the company's rights in lien and collection matters
² Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, planning and analytical skills required.
² While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit for prolong periods.
² The employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
² Ability to operate a motor vehicle, required.
