Job description

Pediatric Pulmonary Hyperplasia Program (PHP) APP Position

The Pediatric Pulmonary Hyperplasia Program (PHP) at Primary Children's Hospital is seeking an energetic and passionate individual for a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position. The APP is an integral provider and clinical leader in the multidisciplinary team beginning with diagnosis and long term follow up as the child grows and develops. The APP will be responsible for leading specific components in patient care, research, and advocacy. This role will include management and continued development of the PHP Program and is an opportunity to develop and grow leadership skills. We are seeking an APP that is interested in leadership and management of complex chronic conditions in the pediatric patient.

Position Specific Duties:

  • The responsibilities include the assessment and ongoing care of children with pulmonary hypoplasia. The APP works closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians with primary responsibilities in the outpatient setting. Protocols for all aspects of patient care and management are followed.
  • This position includes responsibilities for program oversight in coordination with the medical director, advocating and managing resources for patient care, and developing quality improvement outcomes.
  • This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other duties as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (NP), Delegation of Services Agreement (PA) (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate.

Part time, it is anticipated this APP will typically be scheduled 12 hours per week, during regular clinic hours.

What you'll bring:

  • Board certification as a Physician Assistant OR Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PNP).
  • Active, unobstructed Utah APRN or PA and Controlled Substance license, or the ability to obtain prior to starting employment.
  • Federal DEA Certificate II – V
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
  • Prior pediatric pulmonary clinical experience highly preferred.
