Global Resource Solutions, Inc. (GRS) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and talented individual for the position of Traffic Control (TC).

Job Description:

Summary: Traffic Control personnel safely direct pedestrians and vehicular traffic for Arlington National Cemetery

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform visitor traffic control at various positions throughout ANC at all times during ANC's hours of operation.
  • These positions shall not be self-breaking; therefore, contractor personnel performing traffic control services shall remain at their designated area of responsibility at all times until relieved by other visitor traffic control personnel.
  • Provide brief information or directions so that it does not cause traffic delays or create unnecessary public safety risks.

Requirement:

  • Traffic control personnel shall, at a minimum, possess a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of work experience involving vehicle/pedestrian traffic operations.
  • Equivalent work experience includes, but is not limited to, controlling crosswalks, controlling intersections, and ensuring the safe flow of vehicles and pedestrians within the same space.
  • Must have an understanding of safety with regards to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
  • Personnel are required to have the ability to walk throughout the entire facility and stand constantly. This includes long distances, various hills/grades and all types of terrain.
  • VIA must be able to function outdoors in all types of weather.

Skills:

* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language with sufficient fluency to support the requirements within this contract* Possess required state motor vehicle licenses or certifications for operating equipment and vehicles used in the execution of this contract

Physical Requirements: This position requires constant standing and walking throughout the entire facility, to include long distances, various hills/grades, and types of terrain. This position is a year-around, outdoor position, and functions in all types of weather.

Communication: Excellent customer service via phone and face to face conversation, excellent written and oral command of English.
