QBE, LLC is seeking a Controller to support all accounting functions in the Haymarket Corporate office. This position will be reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance.


This role is a hand-on senior-level accounting professional responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Managing day-to-day accounting, audits, and Accounts receivable. Managing a small team and assisting in improving accounting policies for a fast-growing organization. 


QBE is looking for someone to partner up with the Sr. Finance Director and drive financial transformation initiatives, including process improvement, automation, AI-enabled efficiencies, building scalable accounting infrastructure capable of supporting rapid organizational groups. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Maintain internal controls and strengthen them as the company grows
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors

Accounting Operations

  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Develop financial statements and work with finance to understand financial forecasts 

Cash Management & Treasury

  • Monitor cash flow and working capital
  • Manage banking relationships and credit facilities
  • Oversee cash disbursements and optimize liquidity
  • Support investment or financing decisions

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with the Sr. Direct of Finance to guide financial strategy

Systems, Processes & Technology

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across financial systems

Tax & Regulatory Oversight

  • Coordinate federal, state, and local tax filings
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax, payroll tax, and other obligations
  • Work with external tax advisors as needed

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required (CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • Experience operating within a fast-growing small business organization with multi-entity, multi-location, or operational complex organization
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with GAAP and DFAR
  • Proven success leading accounting transformations, control enhancements, process improvement and organizational buildout initiatives

Preferred System Qualifications: 

  • Experience of working with ERP system Unanet
  • Experience with implementing expense management systems, such as Concur
