Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors, analyzes, and executes appropriate actions related to operating the SCADA system and the distribution power grid, OMS system, CIS system, and AMI system.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and executes appropriate actions related to power issues.
  • Communicates vital information to members, other departments, power suppliers, emergency personnel, and other utilities.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and executes appropriate actions related to operating collections, AMI disconnects and reconnects.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and executes appropriate actions for security using access control software and video software to provide critical action for emergencies and facility issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study preferred.
  • Must have a well-developed working knowledge of power systems, control circuits, remote terminal units, un-interruptible power supply systems, and security systems.
  • Proficient computer skills with software applications (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must demonstrate personal initiative and independent judgement and possess good decision-making skills to effectively relate to and resolve issues.
  • Must possess good math and reasoning skills and have basic knowledge of the configurations, installations, and applications of electronic systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions

  • Duties are primarily performed in an office environment.
  • Overtime may be required, as well as occasional weekend work and some overnight and/or out-of-state travel.
