Job description

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time civil engineering intern to work on airport design projects (taxiways, aprons, runways, etc.) based in our Dallas, TX office starting in May/June 2027 and ending in August 2027.
The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and surveyors with civil engineering projects in the following areas:
  • Airfield and municipal civil engineering projects
  • Performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates
  • Assisting with project report preparation
  • Technical research and writing
  • May assist with field inspection, documentation, and survey work
  • Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver's license, the ability to pass a background check to gain access to airport sites, and occasional travel will be required.
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering from an accredited college or university by the date of hire.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following:
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Civil3D software
  • Construction Field experience including observation and documentation
  • Basic grading and drainage concepts
  • Knowledge of airport planning and/or design
  • Civil/survey engineering coursework relevant to the position
