Job description

Job Summary:
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks to ensure product robustness and integrating quality into CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities:
• Framework Architecture: Design and develop modular, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks from the ground up using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium)
• Automation Development: Write production-quality code to automate end-to-end, integration, and performance tests, ensuring high test coverage across the stack
• Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback
• Performance & Load Testing: Proactively identify performance bottlenecks by designing and executing load and stress tests for microservices and APIs
• White-Box Testing: Conduct deep-dive analysis by inspecting application logs, database queries, and system architectures to identify root causes of failures
• Shift-Left Quality: Collaborate with software developers during the design phase to identify potential edge cases and promote testable code architectures
• Infrastructure Management: Manage test environments, including containerized setups (Docker/Kubernetes), to ensure stable, isolated testing conditions
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4+ years of experience in software development and/or automated testing
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong experience with automation frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTest, TestNG, Selenium, Playwright)
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar libraries
• Ability to write complex SQL queries for data verification and setup
• A strong 'developer mindset'—you view testing as a software engineering problem to be solved with code, not just a series of manual steps
