Stamping Associate information

What is a stamping associate?

Stamping associates are manufacturing workers responsible for operating machines that cut, shape, or form metal and other materials using stamping presses. They set up and monitor stamping equipment, inspect finished products for quality, and ensure that production goals and safety standards are met. Stamping associates often work in automotive, aerospace, and other industries where precise metal parts are needed. Their role can also include routine maintenance of machines and documentation of production data.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a stamping associate?

To thrive as a Stamping Associate, you need a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, attention to detail, and basic mechanical aptitude, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with stamping presses, measuring tools, and quality control systems such as calipers and micrometers is typically required. Dependability, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are essential soft skills in this environment. These skills ensure efficient production, high product quality, and a safe workplace in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

What are some common challenges faced by stamping associates and how can they be addressed?

Stamping Associates often encounter challenges such as maintaining precision under repetitive tasks, managing high-speed production lines, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Effective communication with team members and supervisors is crucial for troubleshooting equipment issues and ensuring quality standards are met. Staying organized, embracing continuous training, and being proactive about machine maintenance can help address these challenges and contribute to a smoother workflow.

What is the difference between Stamping Associate vs Press Operator?

Job description

# Mechanical Engineer - HVAC (PE Licensed)
**Location:** California (specific office location to be confirmed with client)
**Experience:** 5-10 years
**License:** Professional Engineer (PE) required
**Job Type:** Full-Time
## About the Opportunity
We're looking for a licensed Mechanical Engineer who wants more than a stamp and a stack of drawings - someone ready to shape the mechanical systems of tomorrow's buildings while shaping their own career path toward leadership. This is a firm where engineers are known by name, mentorship is built into the week (not squeezed in), and there's a real, visible track to principal and ownership for people who want it.
If you're a PE with a strong HVAC background who's ready to take on more complex projects, mentor junior staff, and have a genuine say in how the firm grows - we want to talk to you.
## What You'll Do
- Lead mechanical/HVAC design for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and/or industrial projects from concept through construction administration
- Perform and oversee load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping design, and energy modeling
- Ensure designs meet California Title 24, ASHRAE standards, and applicable building codes
- Review and stamp drawings and calculations as the engineer of record
- Collaborate directly with architects, contractors, and clients - often as the primary technical point of contact
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work and helping them grow toward licensure
- Contribute to proposals, client relationships, and business development as your role expands
- Help shape internal standards, tools, and processes - your ideas carry real weight here
## What You Bring
- Active California PE license (Mechanical)
- 5-10 years of HVAC design experience in a consulting engineering environment
- Proficiency with Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or equivalent load/energy modeling software
- Strong working knowledge of Title 24 energy compliance and ASHRAE 90.1/62.1
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD MEP; BIM coordination experience a plus
- A track record of mentoring or a genuine interest in developing others
- Excellent communication skills - you can explain a design decision to a client as clearly as to a junior engineer
## Why This Firm
**Culture that's actually lived, not just posted on a wall**
This is a close-knit, collaborative team where senior staff make a point of being accessible - no closed-door hierarchy, no "figure it out yourself" culture. Expect open floor plans (literal and figurative), regular knowledge-sharing sessions, and a genuine investment in work-life balance. Flexible schedules and hybrid work are supported, not just tolerated.
**A real succession plan**
Many firms talk about growth; this one has built the actual pathway. There's a structured track from Senior Engineer → Associate → Principal, with ownership/equity opportunities for those who want to build a long-term future here. Leadership is actively planning for the next generation of firm owners - and that could be you. If your goal is to eventually run projects, run teams, or run the business itself, this is a place built to get you there.
**Mentorship both ways**
You'll be mentored by senior principals with decades of HVAC design experience, while also mentoring the engineers coming up behind you. Professional development isn't an afterthought - continuing education, PE exam support for staff working toward licensure, and conference attendance are part of how the firm invests in its people.
**Meaningful, varied work**
Projects span multiple sectors, so you won't be stuck doing the same building type for years - you'll build a broad, resume-defining portfolio while working with a team that genuinely enjoys solving hard problems together.
## Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience (details provided upon application)
- Performance bonuses
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- PE license renewal and professional development support
- Generous PTO and flexible/hybrid work arrangements
- Clear path toward Associate and Principal-level advancement
