Job description

Material Handler
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for a variety of Material Handling tasks, including but not limited to picking, staging and kitting of purchased and manufactured parts to support assembly and shipping operations, forklift operations, shipping and receiving operations, cycle counts of inventory, etc. The position requires the highest level of accuracy due to customer expectations and the critical importance of inventory accuracy. This position requires a forklift certification as well as handling/sorting of parts into racks, carts or containers throughout the day.
Shift:
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 AM

Job Functions:
  • With little guidance Operation of Forklifts to move materials within the facility. Unloading, loading, put away, transporting to packing line and staging areas within the facility and meeting productivity.
  • Interaction with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and accurate tracking of all material movements.
  • With little guidance communication with purchasing, manufacturing and project managers with regards to material and order status.
  • Generation of picking Bill of Materials as necessary
  • Coordination of shipping / receiving schedules
  • Handling and sorting of parts into pallet racks, staging carts or and containers while meeting the productivity expectations.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area utilizing the principles of 6S.
  • Identify missing parts or incomplete orders, shipments or kits and escalate as necessary to ensure ship dates are not missed.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by owning and continuously improving the inventory and staging / kitting system.
  • Understanding of project requirements and components of our various assemblies

  • No travel is required for this position.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
  • High School diploma
  • Ability to pass Bastian Powered Industrial Vehicle test
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations
  • Team player, able to take as well as give
  • Ability to operate heavy duty equipment in a safe manner
  • Solid Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment (fork truck, walkie, pallet jack, etc). Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, D365,
  • Experience with Inventory
  • Ability to read engineering prints
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills
  • A Level I Material Handler will be able to perform at least MH functions (staging, receiving, shipping)
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
