Position Description
As a General Laborer, you will be responsible for supporting the Fire Protection installation team by assisting with the installation of fire sprinkler and related suppression systems. This entry-level position performs general labor tasks to support field crews in a safe and efficient manner. Little to no construction experience is required, and training will be provided. The General Laborer is expected to follow all safety requirements and demonstrate behavior that is representative of the company's core values. Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrate behavior that is representative of the company's core values.
  • Comply with all safety policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Assist installation crews with fire sprinkler system installation activities.
  • Load, unload, stage, and transport pipe, fittings, and installation materials.
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and assembling pipe under supervision.
  • Support overhead installation activities as directed by the Foreman or Crew Leader.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
  • Operate basic hand tools and equipment with guidance.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions to complete assigned tasks.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Assist with jobsite setup and breakdown activities.

Position Requirements
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Little to no construction experience required.
  • On the job training provided.
  • Willingness to learn fire protection installation practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work may involve standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or reaching for extended periods.
  • Work may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials, tools, or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may involve working overhead or at elevated heights using ladders or lifts.
  • Work may require working indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and other conditions typical of active construction sights.
  • Work may require accessing confined or restricted spaces.
  • Work may require the use of personal protective equipment for extended periods.
