Software Engineer
This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph to be considered.
A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.
Cherokee Preting is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Erebus Program in St. Louis, MO. The Erebus Program is a newly awarded 7-year effort that delivers cutting-edge intelligence and geospatial data management applications and services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
Compensation & Benefits:

Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:
  • Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
  • Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
  • Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
  • Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Software Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Current TS/SCI with the willingness and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with nine (9) years of related experience OR Master's Degree with seven (7) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience developing multi-tiered or microservice applications.
  • Experience with at least one cloud platform. ie. AWS, Azure, Google.
  • Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Strong scripting experience.
  • Linux experience.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
