Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Professional Geologist (PG) for a top Environmental Consulting leader in Queens, NY.
This critical role involves managing and executing high-stakes environmental projects, ranging from initial site assessments to complex remediation, across commercial and industrial properties. The PG will serve as a technical subject matter expert, balancing sophisticated field investigations with high-level data analysis and regulatory reporting. This position is designed for a motivated professional who is passionate about protecting public health and ensuring environmental integrity through technical excellence and mentorship.
Job Responsibilities
  • Site Assessments: Lead and execute Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to identify and mitigate environmental liabilities.
  • Field Investigations: Conduct and oversee specialized field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling.
  • Remediation Management: Support the design and implementation of site remediation activities and strategies.
  • Technical Reporting: Analyze complex environmental data sets and author comprehensive technical reports in strict accordance with NYSDEC and federal standards.
  • Consultative Guidance: Provide expert-level guidance on environmental conditions, regulatory compliance, and long-term site strategies to clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentorship: Oversee and develop junior staff, providing training on field techniques, safety protocols, and professional reporting.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with engineering and project teams to ensure the timely and successful completion of diverse environmental portfolios.

Requirements
Education & Licensing
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Environmental Science is required (Master's degree preferred).
  • Active Professional Geologist (PG) license is REQUIRED.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation is required.
  • Proven track record in conducting field investigations and complex data interpretation.
