Job description

JOB DUTIES:

 

Serve as the Safety Instrumented System (SIS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the focal point to provide technical guidance with respect to design, implementation, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of SIS.

 

  • Support capital SIS projects as well as assist with operation, maintenance, modification, testing and troubleshooting of existing SIS platforms.
  • Actively support PSM programs via participation in PHA, LOPA, MOC, RCA, resolution of action items, and other activities to ensure safe and reliable operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain corporate SIS standards and safety lifecycle management (SLM) documents.
  • Develop safety requirement specification (SRS), Cause and Effect matrices and perform SIL verification.
  • Develop/review functional check and proof test procedures for SIS.
  • Ensure SIS application program (AP) compliance with TPC programming standards/templates.
  • Provide guidance on SIS cybersecurity.
  • Develop,reviewand improve KPIs for SIS.
  • Work with production and process departments to obtain the required data foroptimaldesign of safety instrumented functions (SIFs).
  • EnsureRecognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) are implemented and practiced in TPC’s facilities for safe and reliable operations.
  • Identify/establishthe key SIS Training activities and processes to be implemented and practiced during the Safety Lifecycle phases associated with SIS.
  • Participate in FAT, IFAT, SAT of SIS equipment.
  • Liaise with 3rd party contractors to ensure SIS project deliverables are completedin a timely manner.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 8 years of experience in in the chemical engineering field which includes experience in a refinery or petrochemical plant with process safety focus, implementing SIS projects based on ISA 61511/ ISA 84, performing SIL verification, knowledge of Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and process safety standards.
