About JLab:

JLab imagines and delivers the personal technology products that consumers want. With our line of personal audio gear and office accessories, we’re innovating absolutely everything to make way better personal tech. Based in San Diego, we’ve been offering the right sound, the right features, and the right value since 2005.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to support JLab’s inventory accounting function and provide day-to-day backup coverage for accounts payable. This role works closely with the Senior Inventory Accountant to ensure accurate recording of inventory-related activity, while also serving as a cross-functional resource to the AP team.

The ideal candidate is process-oriented, comfortable working with recurring structured tasks, and eager to develop their accounting skills in a hands-on environment. You’ll work alongside an experienced accounting team and gain direct visibility into how physical inventory movements, ecommerce transactions, and vendor activity connect to the broader close and reporting processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant to gain foundational experience across inventory accounting, fixed assets, and AP operations in a consumer electronics company with a growing global footprint. Strong performers will have clear opportunities to grow within the team.

If you enjoy tackling accounting challenges, collaborating across teams, and taking ownership of critical accounting processes, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Warehouse Accounting

  • Maintain accurate accounting for both regular and consignment inventory, including tracking inventory activity, receipts, returns, and balances across assigned warehouse locations
  • Reconcile inventory reports to the general ledger and investigate variances, including matching NetSuite invoicing data against warehouse or ecommerce marketplace records
  • Prepare and post monthly warehouse and freight accruals ensuring all third-party warehouse costs are accurately accrued in the period
  • Monitor month-over-month inventory costs and quantities and provide analysis to support understanding of business trends, operational impacts, and financial results

Accounts Payable, General Accounting, & Close Support

  • Provide day-to-day backup support to the Senior Accountant, including invoice processing, vendor payment execution in Tipalti, and AP-related journal entries
  • Prepare and post monthly fixed asset depreciation and intangible amortization journal entries, ensuring schedules are current and accurately reflect additions and disposals
  • Execute assigned month-end close tasks within established timelines
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all areas of ownership, supporting JSOX control testing and external audit evidence requests as needed
  • Participate in the development and refinement of accounting processes, controls, and documentation to support a scalable and well-controlled accounting organization
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; equivalent work experience will be considered in place of a degree
  • 1+ years of accounting experience; prior exposure to inventory accounting or AP is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and large data set reconciliation
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring deadlines consistently and accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and gather information
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for this position at the time of hire and must maintain work authorization for the duration of their employment. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $31.73 - $39.42 per hour (~$66,000–$82,000 per year), based on experience
  • Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, target 5% of base salary, based on individual and company performance

Benefits & Perks, to name a few!

  • Flexible hybrid schedule
  • 2 weeks Work-from-Anywhere program
  • Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and additional insurance options.
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • 401(k) with 4% Match
  • Dog Friendly office
  • Complimentary bi-monthly JLab product allotment
  • Casual and fun workplace culture, including events and in-office happy hours
