Head of Maintenance Operations, SRS

The Head of Maintenance Operations, SRS will lead operations toward full business maturity by implementing SRS and STAUS standards and ensuring continuous adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements. Key responsibilities include maintaining operational safety, supporting project development and mobilization activities, and enabling a seamless transition from project delivery to operational phases. The position also drives a transformational leadership culture, fostering engagement, motivation, and positive influence across teams to strengthen performance and alignment throughout all of the local service operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Stadler meets its contractual obligations across all projects, represented by high availability and other contractual targets.
  • Make key, informed decisions for the operation of service activities.
  • Overall responsibility for operational targets.
  • Implementing divisional standards and processes across all Stadler Rail Service (SRS) locations.
  • Making sure WLC input file is created and continuously updated for every service project.
  • Build relationships with and effectively collaborate with customers, transport authorities, and other departments.
  • Own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for SRS operations.
  • Lead a team of Senior Directors of Maintenance (location managers) and ensure projects are adequately supported.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, especially the Warranty and Commissioning Departments, ensuring positive industrial relations are maintained and any issues are resolved.
  • Ensure Stadler operates in a safe and compliant manner, leading QHSE initiatives from the front.
  • Ensure Stadler continues to successfully build on its brand reputation in the U.S. market.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in rail maintenance operations, preferably in rolling stock.
  • Proven senior leadership experience within a service, maintenance, or operational environment
  • Strong operational leadership with the ability to drive performance, safety, and reliability
  • In-deep knowledge of rail maintenance regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and organizational change
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Strong commercial acumen with a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to balance customer expectations while managing performance within contractual requirements
