Job description

Stadium operations Assistant
Reports to: Director of Stadium Operations
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Status: Internship, Exempt
Dates: February 4, 2026 - October 30, 2026
Hours: 40+ hours per week in addition to all Indians home games and public events
Pay: $1,750 monthly stipend
Position Summary
Provide high level of support for the stadium operations department. Assist with facilities and grounds departments.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare the stadium for every Indians home game and all private and public events held at Victory Field. Duties may include the set up and tear down of gates, replenishing inventory, setting up carnival games, preparing assets needed for sponsorship activations and promotions, cleaning and setting up other areas as needed.
  • Support clubhouse operations, including taking items to seamstress, jersey inventory, keeping nameplates up to date, ordering food and drinks, assisting with loading and unloading of team buses.
  • Assist with locking up and securing the facility daily
  • Assist other departments with receiving and organizing their promotional and sponsorship materials
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and inventory management of the stadium. Including: concourse, restrooms, suite level premium areas, parking lot, and all areas that encompass Victory Field.
  • Assist with supervising and scheduling third-party contractors around the stadium, including security, parking and cleaning companies.
  • Assist with the interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and management of game day employees.
  • Assist field operations with field maintenance - pulling tarp, clearing fireworks, etc.
  • Assist marketing department with distributing materials around the community as needed
  • Represent the Indians at various community outreach events.
  • Game day shuttle and front desk shifts in season, as assigned, on a rotating schedule.
  • Assist with public and private stadium events, as needed, including the Victory Field Classic, City/County Championships, IHSAA State Finals, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently a senior enrolled in a college/university or obtained a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Previous experience in a sports environment is strongly preferred. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather environments
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work up to 14 hours per day, up to 85 hours per week (in-season).
