Job Purpose:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise; accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform product handler duties; promote and implement the companyโ€™s core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart.
  • Use radio equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.
  • Maintain the companyโ€™s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.
  • Maintains a focus for self and team on continuous learning that will enhance skill sets and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience
  • Computer skills desired for operating warehouse management system (WMS)
  • 1-2 years of forklift experience, preferred
  • Possess a current and valid forklift certification

  • Heavy lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
