Job description

St. Joseph School Cockeysville is seeking an experienced Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful applicant should demonstrate a strong knowledge of mathematics education and have teaching experience in a PreK-8 environment. Additionally, the candidate must possess effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities. The candidate must also be able to prepare, plan, create, and execute informative and engaging lesson plans for students. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 10-month teaching position.
Essential Functions
  • Instruct math classes for students in Grades 5-8.
  • Conduct assessments and grading, including the use of PowerSchool.
  • Maintain classroom management and perform all duties assigned to this teacher.
  • Participate as a member of the faculty in all meetings and activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration regarding all matters related to the school.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Education with a concentration in Mathematics.
  • Valid Maryland State Teaching Certification.
  • Knowledge of technology use and integration.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods and strategies, and curriculum differentiation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
