Job description

You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Ocean Projects Department (N9) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.Qualifications:GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience implementing basic electrical concepts such as currents, voltages, and resistances in everyday work.
  • Experience investigating, analyzing, and resolving problems pertaining to the design, installation, maintenance, or repair of the equipment or subsystems assigned.
  • Experience identifying spare parts requirements, preparing supply documents, following funding guidelines, and ensuring that all equipment requirements are identified.
  • Experience reducing technical engineering data to assemble forms, conducting subsequent analyses and assessments, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations in a readily understandable form.

GS-08:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting circuit diagrams and electrical schematics with the help of a team leader or supervisor.
  • Experience utilizing basic terms and standard tools by following required instructions to perform measurements.
  • Experience identifying common electronic components and using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and soldering irons.
  • Experience implementing the basic need for inventory controls while under direct supervision to properly check items in or out of systems.
