Position Overview

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) for locum hospital call coverage at St. Anne Hospital in Burien, WA.

St. Anne is a 159-bed Level III trauma center with approximately 1,200 births annually, with about half of deliveries managed by CNMs.
 

Responsibilities
  • Manage hospital-based OB/CNM patients during 24-hour call
  • Perform obstetric triage and patient evaluation
  • Manage labor and deliveries
  • Discharge patients and provide postpartum care
  • Provide after-hours secondary phone triage
  • Perform surgical first assist for C-sections
  • Collaborate with OB physicians, CNMs, and birth-center nursing staff
Schedule
  • Six (6) 24-hour call shifts per month
  • Additional shifts may be available
  • Must remain within 20โ€“30 minutes of the hospital
  • Call/sleep room provided onsite
  • Holiday availability required
  • Preference for candidates with open availability
Requirements
  • Board Certified Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) โ€“ Required
  • Active Washington State license โ€“ Required
  • BLS โ€“ Required
  • DEA โ€“ Required
  • Strong OB/L&D experience
  • Surgical first-assist experience โ€“ Required
  • Clean background and malpractice history highly preferred
  • New graduates are not eligible
