Job description

Job Description Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking a Windows Server Engineer to design, implement, and maintain an enterprise-grade Windows Server environment. You will be the primary authority on all things’ Windows server. Your mission is to minimize downtime and ensure that the on-premises "private cloud" delivers the same reliability as public cloud offerings.

Job Responsibilities: Design and deploy Windows Server instances on physical hardware and VMware virtualization platforms. Administer enterprise-level DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (IP Address Management) to ensure reliable network connectivity. Implement security baselines (STIGs/CIS), manage WSUS for centralized patching, and ensure SOC 2 or internal audit compliance.

Manage on-premises backup solutions and execute regular restoration drills to ensure "Zero Data Loss." Coordinate with vendors for physical server repairs, firmware updates, and data center capacity planning (power/cooling). Monitor system health (CPU, Memory, Disk I/O) and optimize server configurations for specific roles like File/Print, SQL, or IIS. Required Qualifications: Minimum of four (4) years in systems engineering with a heavy focus on on-premises data centers.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field. Deep knowledge of Windows Server Core and Desktop Experience versions. Solid understanding of VLANs, subnetting, load balancing, and firewall rules within a local data center context.

Proficiency in PowerShell for bulk administration and task automation. Active Secret clearance required. Security+ CE desired.
