Position Summary:

The IT Manager provides a mix of hands-on and organizational leadership for all information systems, technology infrastructure, IT operations, and staff across RJM Construction's (RJM's) span of services. This position collaborates and drives innovation with business leaders to achieve strategic objectives, optimize processes and ensure high-quality training and resources for internal and external clients in all our markets.

EssentialJob Functions:

Business Systems Strategy

  • Technology thought leader in compliance based best practices and outcomes.
  • Involved in the strategic direction, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems by translating business needs into scalable technology solutions while ensuring platforms remain secure, reliable, integrated, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Develop and implement the RJM IT Department Plan in coordination with leadership to align with RJM's mission and annual goals.
  • Advises leadership on technology opportunities, risks, priorities, investments, and digital transformation initiatives using clear language to non-technical team members.
  • Regularly engages with the senior leadership team to discuss and support strategic company direction.

Operations and Leadership

  • Budget development and evaluation, including course correction as needed.
  • End-to-End project management by working closely with staff to ensure accomplishment of established organizational goals, outstanding documentation of processes and policies along the way in a timely manner as prioritized by the Advisory Team.
  • Manages vendors, contracts and financial service partners effectively, including, but not limited to Managed Services Provider, ISP, VOIP, Cell Phone, Printer, and Security services.
  • Understands, verbalizes and models the vision and organizational strategy of Senior Management.
  • Develop and implement robust measurement tools to evaluate effectiveness, improving data-driven decision making.
  • Communicate roadmaps, project status, operational impacts, risks, and dependencies to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Oversee technology projects, application enhancements, integrations, implementations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
  • Serves as a participating member of the Leadership Team.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Leads, develops, and empowers a high-performing team by setting clear priorities and accountability, fostering a collaborative and service-oriented culture, and driving continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence across technology and business functions.
  • Ensure that IT systems and technology support staff meet their job responsibilities and the organization's goals in fulfilling its mission.
  • Partners with business teams, including those with whom they have no direct oversight to remove roadblocks, manage risks and create alignment to fulfill company and department goals.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manages cybersecurity protection policies and implementations such as application upgrades, data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Escalate issues as required.
  • Oversees Intune and other management device platforms (PCs, Mobile, etc.) and assist staff as requested.
  • Advocates for continuous improvement, implements clear work requirements, defines measures of success and change management processes for each project.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Required Position Qualifications / Certificates / Licenses:

  • At least 3 years of IT management experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Ability to vet and accurately translate organizational needs into technology solutions.
  • Experience managing IT projects and supporting staff needs.
  • This position is primarily office-based and is expected to work from the office on a regular basis to support collaboration, team engagement, and business operations.
  • Ability to work in-office much of the time (no fully remote candidates considered).
  • Significant experience working with third party vendors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with department leaders.

Desired Technical Qualifications / Skills / Licenses / Certifications:

  • 2-year or 4-year degree in information technology or related field. Documented experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience administering software licenses and renewals.
  • Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.) administration experience.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or other data platforms.
  • Configuration and management of mobile devices.
  • Experience with Procore ERP platform.
  • Experience with Vista financial platform.
  • Experience with SQL reporting and database concepts.
