Senior Tax ManagerFuture Tax Department LeaderAbout the Opportunity

DSWD Advisory Group is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join our growing firm and help lead the future of our tax practice. This position offers a meaningful path toward becoming our Tax Department Leader within approximately two years, based on performance, leadership development, and firm needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical tax expertise with the ability to lead people, manage significant client relationships, improve departmental processes, and contribute to firm growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage tax engagements and relationships for closely held businesses, business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and other significant clients.

  • Review complex federal and multistate returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, individuals, and trusts.

  • Lead tax-planning and advisory engagements and identify proactive planning opportunities.

  • Coach, develop, and provide technical guidance to tax professionals at all levels.

  • Oversee engagement staffing, scheduling, budgets, deadlines, billing, and profitability.

  • Help improve department workflow, technology, quality-control practices, and resource allocation.

  • Participate in recruiting, performance management, and the development of future firm leaders.

  • Support business development through client expansion, prospect meetings, referral relationships, and community involvement.

  • Work closely with firm leadership and progressively assume responsibility for the tax department’s people, operations, financial performance, and strategic direction.

Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required.

  • Eight or more years of progressive public accounting tax experience preferred.

  • Current or recent experience at the Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager level.

  • Strong knowledge of business, individual, partnership, and multistate taxation.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex engagements and important client relationships.

  • Proven leadership, coaching, delegation, and team-development skills.

  • Excellent communication, project-management, and organizational abilities.

  • Sound professional judgment and a commitment to responsive, high-quality client service.

Experience serving closely held businesses, professional services firms, financial services companies, registered investment advisers, private investment entities, or high-net-worth individuals is especially valuable.
