Capital Management Senior Manager

Description: 

The Capital Management team is seeking intellectually curious, highly motivated candidates with strong analytical skills to support various cross-functional objectives within the team. The Capital Management team is primarily responsible for determining the bank's target capital levels, developing a strategy for capital distribution plans, ensuring the bank maintains adequate levels of capital to protect against potential risks, and providing senior management with key insights into the bank's performance under a range of economic scenarios. In addition, Capital Management is responsible for allocating capital to the bank's various business lines and products to support balance sheet optimization efforts across the organization. 

The Capital Management Senior Manager plays a critical role in overseeing capital management, planning, and risk appetite elements to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. This position involves solving complex problems related to capital allocation, optimization and strategic initiatives, while providing senior management with key insights into the bank's performance under various economic scenarios.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Allocation Framework Design: Help design and refine a framework to optimize capital deployment across business lines, ensuring alignment with the Bank's strategic goals and risk appetite.
  • Analytical Capabilities: Build and maintain analytical capabilities to assess return on capital, risk-adjusted performance, and capital efficiency to support informed decision-making. Review trends and relationships of capital, perform sophisticated financial modeling, and conduct sensitivity analysis to support sustainable and controlled processes.
  • Presentation Materials: Create clear, compelling presentation materials to communicate complex financial insights and capital allocation strategies to senior executives and key stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with LOB Finance, Risk, and Treasury teams, along with key stakeholders across business units, to implement frameworks, provide insights, and support capital planning initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders to understand and support their capital requirements for strategic efficiencies.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry and peer bank data, analyze stress test results, and create dashboards to evaluate the bank's capital strategy and performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand the impact of changing regulatory capital frameworks on the business, including liquidity, stress testing, and strategic planning.
  • Capital Planning: Provide analytical support for the bank's annual Capital Plan, assess the impact of new products and regulations, and perform ad-hoc analyses to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and data analytics.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and exceptional analytical skills.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics simply and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Preferred experience using large data sets and solid database management skills.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $160,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
