Job description

Role: Senior Quality Engineer
Client: DOD-Aerospace
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Duration: 6-month contract
Hourly Rate: up to $57/hr (W2, non-benefited)

Position Description:
  • The Senior Quality Engineer plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and engineering actions and supporting tiered management systems.
  • The Senior QE will lead efforts in pull focuses on identifying and resolving defects, analyzing trends, managing corrective m improvement across cross-functional teams.

Required Skills:
  • Analyze quality metrics and trends; provide data-driven insights to support continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve product and process defects through robust Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), including countermeasure sheets and 5-Whys.
  • Interact and communicate with operators to confirm and reinforce quality requirements.
  • Facilitate and participate in Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Perform and support containment activities in response to quality issues.
  • Conduct and support internal process audits.
  • Manage work packages and support Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
  • Respond to Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
  • Review technical documents and contractual quality requirements.
  • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) skills to ensure design integrity.
  • Detect and help define counterfeit part controls.
  • Support and maintain Basis of Estimate (BOE) development for scope planning.
  • Drive ROI-focused initiatives and continuous quality improvements.

Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a quality engineering role, preferably in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
