Job description

OUR STORY

From an idea in one man's garage to an essential in every man's shower, Every Man Jack was created to give men everywhere clean, effective personal care that stands up to any adventure.
Born in 2007 at the base of Mt. Tam, near the great redwood forests of Northern California, Every Man Jack was founded to fill a gap in the men's care space. To remove the bravado and harsh chemicals that choked the industry, and focus instead on simple, clean products accessible to regular guys.
That belief is right in our name: the phrase "Every Man Jack" traces its origins back several centuries, when it meant "everybody without exception."
Today it still means quality within reach. It stands for the man who fixes what's broken, who builds, and who welcomes the unknown. We're for the man whose routine belongs on the trail, in the surf, and under open skies. He's ready for the next story worth remembering.
WHAT WE DO

Every Man Jack, a B Corp Certified Company, is a leader in the natural men's grooming space, with a presence across major national retailers like Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Amazon.
We've experienced significant growth over the past several years and continue to add top talent to our growing roster.
Considering a host of recent initiatives, significant retail distribution opportunities, and high growth e-commerce initiatives, there is no shortage of exciting projects for the Every Man Jack team.

THE ROLE: SR. QUALITY MANAGER

We are looking for a Sr. Quality Manager to own the creation of Presidio Brands' quality programs and the continuous improvement of product quality and related production systems, programs, and activities with our network of contract manufacturers, assemblers, raw materials suppliers, and third-party logistics providers. A systemic approach will be critical to assure best practices around process controls, documentation, information management, specifications, and compliance.

The Sr. Quality Manager will ensure that raw materials and finished products meet company specifications and that operations comply with all local, state, and federal laws, through independently assessing quality and compliance risk, establishing quality standards and operating practices, identifying systematic improvement opportunities, and influencing cross-functional and external partners to drive resolution. The Sr. Quality Manager will champion a company-wide culture of product quality excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior-level oversight of Presidio Brands' supplier and manufacturing network from a product safety, quality, and compliance perspective, establishing expectations and driving accountability with contract manufacturers, assemblers, raw material suppliers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Own the strategic direction, governance, and continuous improvement of the EVERY MAN JACK Quality Management System (QMS) including supplier oversight of specifications, audits and manufacturing / packaging requirements.
  • Lead cGMP and quality compliance programs, reports, SOPs, APRs, specifications, and other quality systems to assure compliance with requirements for manufacturing and packaging of Cosmetics and OTC Drug products.
  • Translate quality data into actionable business recommendations, regularly communicating trends, risks, root causes, and recommended solutions to cross-functional partners and senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain product specifications and metrics to monitor product and process performance and assure product quality meets established standards.
  • Lead risk-based audits and assessments of suppliers, manufacturing facilities, processes, raw materials, finished goods, and quality systems. Prioritize remediation based on business and consumer risk.
  • Lead the quality assessment and onboarding of new contract manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, packaging suppliers, and third-party logistics providers, influencing partner selection and readiness decisions.
  • Own the resolution of quality events non-conformances, quality problems, and product defects with EMJ suppliers. Work with supplier partners to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive action plans and communicate issue resolution to management.
  • Exercise independent judgment regarding product disposition, including approval, rejection, hold, investigation, escalation, and other risk-based decisions associated with commercial distribution.
  • Serve as a cross-functional quality leader and subject-matter expert, partnering with Operations, Product Development/Innovation, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other stakeholders to anticipate quality risks and support successful commercialization.

THE CANDIDATE

Candidates must be passionate, organized, and love developing personal care, grooming, or skin care products. This person is highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills. While this candidate loves timelines and getting organized, this person has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in the fast-paced, changing world of product development in a high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player - someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder and takes on a "sleeves-rolled-up" and a "can-do" attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for EMJ, both internally and externally.
