Job Description

Astura Medical's Sr. Project Engineer will serve as the project leader for a cross-functional development team. The cross functional teams include; surgeons, marketing, quality, regulatory and manufacturing. The primary goal of the Sr. Project Engineer is to establish the product requirements, create the development plan and to design and manage the development activities up to the point of commercialization.


Job Responsibilities

Project Management: Responsible for the development and management of the project plan including all cross-functional activities which affect the project.

Design Control Documentation: Responsible for the creation of design control documentation per Astura's design control procedure.

CAD Modeling: Responsible for modeling of complex parts using Solidworks CAD software including; design tables, surfacing, and complex assemblies.

Design for Manufacturability: Responsible for working with manufacturing personnel to ensure parts can be efficiently manufactured.

Design Analysis: Responsible for performing analyses to evaluate design feasibility including; FEA and written calculations.

Manufacturing Drawings: Responsible for creating manufacturing drawings per ASME Y14.5.

Tolerance Analysis (GD&T): Responsible for performing tolerance analysis on all interfacing devices.

Creative thinker and problem solver Motivated and self-starter Detail oriented Expert level CAD skills Excellent understanding of fundamental mechanical principles Organized Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Project.


Education and Experience

Minimum of 5 years in all job responsibilities listed above (proficiency test will be conducted) Formal CAD and GD&T training preferred.
