Shift: Mon โ€“ Fri, Will start at 6a as needed and be able to travel 1-2 weeks per month throughout Texas.

I. Job Summary
Senior, Mechanic Technician, you will work under limited supervision and be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment. You will utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, vehicles, and systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Must have all required tools to fulfill the responsibilities and requirements of the job.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate directions and specifications verbally and in writing to team members.
  • Demonstrate high quality work, performed with limited repeat repairs and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Demonstrate ability to aid and train other technicians in repairs and WM procedures and policies.
  • Use time effectively, prevent irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion.
  • Document Work and Parts Usage: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks. Record parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings utilizing fleet maintenance software program.
  • Test and Adjust Systems: Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper functionality and alignment. Adjust settings, calibrate sensors, and perform fine-tuning as necessary to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose Mechanical Issues: Perform complex diagnostic tests to identify mechanical problems and malfunctions in vehicles, engines, and equipment. Use specialized tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues, and determine the most effective repair solutions, and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Repair, Replace, or Rebuild Components: Conduct repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. Follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines to ensure quality repairs and optimal performance.
  • Maintain Tools and Equipment: Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and shop facilities to ensure they are in good working condition. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Provide Support: Collaborate with and instruct other technicians/mechanics to troubleshoot complex issues and share knowledge and expertise. Provide technical guidance and assistance to junior staff members as needed.
  • Estimate time and material costs on repairs, and requisitions new parts, and communicate immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within SRTs.
  • Inspects the quality of outside/supplier repairs and or rebuilds. Assess structural damage and assigns needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s).
  • Perform service calls and appropriate emergency breakdown repairs.
  • Ability to adjust workload based on priority situations and the needs of the operation.
  • In the absence of supervision may provide maintenance supervisory duties.
  • Demonstrate the ability to increase skills to adjust to changing technology/equipment.


III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications

  • 3 years as a mechanic technician working on heavy equipment or similar role, preferably in a diesel, automotive, construction, or industrial setting and
  • 3 years inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment and
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located and
  • Valid Driver's License


B. Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • (CDL)-Class B and must have a clean driving record. If CDL is required, an applicant must be 21 years of age
