Summary

YAGEO Group / KEMET Electronics is seeking a Senior Development Engineer in our Simpsonville, SC location. This engineer will lead material and process development in the area of end-terminations and plating of ceramic capacitor products.

Key Responsibilities
  • This engineer will lead material and process development in the area of end-terminations and plating of ceramic capacitor products.
  • The candidate will be expected to quickly learn the key aspects of the KEMET MLCC manufacturing technology process and products.
  • Develop new products using leading edge technologies and will execute experimental work with a minimum of supervision.
  • This position involves working closely with other development and implementation teams in KEMET's facilities in the US and Mexico.
Required Qualifications
  • S. in Engineering (Materials or Chemical) required. M.S. or higher degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience.
  • A strong technical background and experience are required in Design of Experiments, Analysis of Variance and problem solving.
  • Knowledge and experience with thick film and paste technologies used in hybrid electronics.
  • Familiar with interconnect materials and processes involving end-metallization, plating and solders commonly used in electronics.
  • Experience of the metallurgies, compatibility and performance requirements associated with electronic components terminations and lead attachment.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written are essential.
  • Proficiency in using Windows PC and Microsoft Office suite, in particular: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft-TEAMS and statistical analysis software such as MiniTab.
